After working for a local air conditioning company during the 1980s, Larry Tempesta decided to start his own company. So in 1985, Larry founded Tempco, Inc. in a small shop in Astoria, Queens, and Tempco quickly built a reputation as a dependable and top-quality HVAC company. In 1992, after establishing a core of customers in Glen Cove, Larry purchased Glen Cove mainstay F.J. Schmidt, which was founded in 1921, and moved Tempco to Glen Cove, right next to City Stadium Park.

In 2002, Tempco acquired Massaro Brothers Air Conditioning of New Hyde Park as it continued to grow. Since then, Tempco has grown exponentially and has become an established part of the community. Our white vans with the blue Tempco logo are easily spotted all around Long Island as our staff is always busy keeping our customers happy and comfortable.

As a family-run business, Larry’s wife Angela and son Matt are looking to keep Tempco growing into the future while meeting all the needs of our loyal customers, without whom none of this would have been possible
